今週は夏休みスペシャル！会話に必須！役立つ基本表現！！！です。
今までにやった曲の中から、会話にすぐに役立つ基本表現を選んで解説していこうと思います。
① Make it
最初はMake it
この表現の出てきた曲は、
It's too late to make it. (from Maroon 5"Payphone").
I am gonna make it out alive. (from Selene Gomez "The heart want what it wants")
Make itはとてもよく使う表現で、間に合って来れるとか、何かしらのイベントに参加できるとか、
または何かしらのことに成功するといった意味です。
歌に出てきたのはIt's too late to make it.もう遅すぎて間に合わない。
I'm gonna make it alive.生きて外に出ることに成功するか。という意味です。
よく使う使い方は
Can you make it tonight ?
I won't make it to the meeting.
With all this traffic, I will never make it home before 9:00.
などです。「なんでmake itがこんな意味になるのだろう」とか「itは何を指しているの」とか、
そんなことは一切考えずにフレーズをそのまま暗記してください。必ず役に立ちます。
② It's been
次はこの曲からです。
It's been a long day. (from Wiz Khalifa "See you again".)
Been so long, I forgot how to turn it up. (from Kelly Clarkson "Heartbeat song").
It's beenはIt has been の省略形ですがIt's been ～で、～の部分に時間や物事の経過を表す言葉を入れると、
～の時間が経った、～の状態が続いてきたということになります。
歌に出てきたのはIt's been a long day. 長い一日を過ごしてきた（大変な一日だった）。
Long day （大変な日）という状態が続いてきたという使い方です。
もう一つはBeen so long, forgot how to turn it upですが、
これはIt's been so long that I forgot how to turn it upの意味で、
so longという時間が経過した意味ですよね。It is ではなくて
It's beenになること確実に身につけましょう。
It's been a long time.
It's been a while since I last saw you.
It's been far too long since we last spoke
It's been ages since I visited that place
③ Bother
次の表現はこの曲から
Cold never bothered me anyway. (from Demi Lovato "Let it go").
Don't bother asking if you look OK. (from Bruno Mars "Just the way you are").
Cold never bothered me anyway. は「すこーしも寒くないわー」って日本語版ではなってますが、
英語の直訳ではありません。botherは～が気になる、～が気に触る、～に悩ませれる、
～に困らされるの意味で、寒さが気になったこと中ないわっていう意味でしたよね。
もう一つのDon't bother asking if you look OK.のbotherは
わざわざ～するの意味でわざわざ「私オッケーの見える？」
なんて聞かないでいいんだよの意味です。
Botherの例文も勉強しておきましょう。
Can I bother you for a second ?
Sorry to bother you this late.
It doesn't bother me.
The noise really bothers me when I'm trying to work
Ever since the car accident, my lower back has been bothering me
The thought of those starving children really bothers me
実は、名詞のBotherもあります。名詞の場合はno botherで迷惑でない、
a boherで面倒臭い奴の意味です。
I would be happy to help you, it's no bother at all
Don't ask Bob to come, he can be a real bother.
④ It doesn't matter, I don't care
次の表現はこの曲からです。
It don't matter it clearly doesn't tear you apart anymore (from Adele "Hello")
I really don't care where you are (from Maroon 5 "Sugar")
It doesn't matter とI don't careはどちらもそんなことはどうでもいい。という意味で
これもとってもよく使う表現です。
It doesn't matter what you do.
I don't care who you are.
It doesn't matter if you win or lose.
To tell you the truth, I don't care.
No matter how fast you drive, you are never gonna make it.
As long as you know what to do, I don't care who you are or where you from.
It doesn't matter, it doesn't bother me at all, I really don't care.
